2011 4th Annual Charity Golf Classic

Gord Bamford raises $273,000 at 2011 Charity Golf Tournament

(Edmonton, AB) Gord Bamford and friends recently raised $273,000 for the Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation at his 4th annual 2011 Charity Golf Tournament held in Lacombe August 4 and 5th, 2011.

The money generated goes to support Bamford’s Foundation, which provides support for education, music, and health care in order to improve the quality of life for families living across Canada.

“We keep pushing ourselves every year to make a difference for these organizations,” says Bamford. “I can’t thank my sponsors, friends and fellow musicians enough for faithfully coming out to support my Foundation and these charities that truly make a difference in the lives of so many children. I’m humbled to be able to give back 100% of the proceeds raised at my 4th annual golf tournament.”

Silent and live auction items included a one hour Gord Bamford Unplugged acoustic performance, a Summer Sendoff concert VIP package and a guitar signed by Jason Alden, Ronnie Dunn and the Judds. Those in attendance were treated to a star-studded concert with performances from Bamford, Patricia Conroy, Aaron Pritchett, Jake Mathews, Beverley Mahood, Tera Lee and Dallas Smith from the band Default.

Bamford also wishes to recognize the many sponsors and corporate support from several Alberta companies, such as EnCana Corporation, KG Country Red Deer, PennWest Exploration and the Lacombe Tim Hortons for their involvement. A full list of the sponsors is attached.

The Canadian Country Music Association recently nominated Bamford in the following four award categories for 2011: Single of the Year (My Daughter’s Father), Songwriter(s) of the Year (Put Some Alcohol on It), and CMT Video of the Year (My Daughter’s Father). Bamford was again nominated in the exclusive Male Artist of the Year category. The CCMA’s are scheduled to be held in Hamilton, Ontario, September 9 to 12, 2011.

Casey Clarke of CMT Canada filmed the Chevy Top 20 on Friday August 5th at the Lacombe Golf and Country Club, and will air the program at a later date.
